I have a solution. Take 1/2 million illegal immigrants off the roads.

FCPD are the best at creating traffic jams.

Pretty soon when they ticket people for speeding they will be closing all the roads within a five mile area so they can write the ticket.

God knows every fender bender requires shutting down the intersection at rush hour for hours so the officer can sit in his car.

There are a lot of stupid people around here, that's for sure. Meanwhile, the problem isn't actually people at all -- it's cars. And with road-building capacity declining every year, we will soon enough have to start taking roads away from cars so we can turn the rights-of-way over to mass transit. There isn't any other solution.

Back before there were cars, we got around by walking and using streetcars, els, and interurbans. Worked great. Urban travel needs to get back to that.

The problem is not cars. The problem is too many people. We need fewer people.

Lots of people have been encouraging you raving dipshit assholes to get the fuck out of here, but it isn't working well enough. Climb in the ld clunker and see if you can make it down to Spotsy. That'd help us out a lot here.

So adding more buses solves the problem?

Pretty ironic considering all of Fairfax is nothing more than a bedroom community!

Don't let your butthurt envy blind your view of reality!

Buses can be a significant help in marginal and short-term situations. But they require a dedicated right-of-way to be effective. In situations of heavier and long-term use, the lower operating and maintenance costs of rail point in a different direction. Rail requires a dedicated right-of-way as well. In either case, where build-out options are limited, accommodations for cars go out the window.

I have a better solution. Send all the BMW driving, Government job seeking, self-important douche-bag carpetbaggers back to where they came from.

That would be some 400,000 households all in all, so many of them full of spacious bedrooms with large windows overlooking beautiful yards and gardens and woods and streams and with a seemingly endless array of high-end shopping and dining opportunities nearby.

With you all, it's the neighbor's trash cans that blot out your view. And in many cases, that's an improvement.

Why is it, with all this marvelous technology, do millions have to move here in order suck the gubmint teat?

Why can't the motherfuckers stay home in Podunk, Iowa and still work for companies here? You know, telecommute and all that?

Less than 50% of which are detached single family homes.

How about stop cramming so many buildings into an area and rejecting building permits.

Buses creates poisonous carbon that increases global warming. Try working from home, walking or riding a bicycle to work, adjust your employment so you can travel at non-peak hours.

For fuck sake look at rt. 50 at any given time. The problem is slow drivers. They should be the ones getting their licenses taken away. Thus leaving more room on the road for us fast drivers

The people problem will never go away as long as landlords allow 20-30 illegals to live at the same address at the same time, and take up the entire block and yard with all their clunkers.
