Tuesday, August 29 is Election Day in Fairfax County. Chris Grisafe needs your vote for the open at-large seat on the Fairfax County School Board. Here are four reasons this election is important:

1. More than half of Fairfax County’s budget every year goes to the public schools, and the current School Board wants more money and less accountability.

2. Chris Grisafe will work to make the system accountable and responsive to parents, teachers, students, taxpayers, and the entire community for the benefit of all.

3. The Democrat-controlled School Board is more concerned with advancing its ideological agenda than with educating children. Chris Grisafe will be another voice for reason and sanity on the Board.

4. Turnout will be very low, and every vote really will matter. We need every conservative, every Republican, every American who believes in what this country has always stood for, to vote on Tuesday.

Interesting that Chris is running as a candidate to represent all people, while Karen Hyphen is running as a Democrat. Are there that many more Democrats than everyone else in this county now?

The school board has 53% of the county budget already, plus much of the state's budget, but they want more.

I'm voting for Chris Grisafe to add some sanity to the discussion.

This is exactly what the Republicans want. They had Hough resign less than two weeks short of the deadline in order to force this special election - and force the county to spend $250,000 to hold it. They are hoping for a small voting block because they know they are in the minority in their hate and pettiness and hypocrisy. Grisafe is a lap dog to psycho Elizabeth Schultz, who jokes about buying ammo for her gun on social media and embarrassed herself with her "silent protest" speech to parents last year. Keys-Gamarra may not be perfect, but she supports kids, not outdated ideologies and hate.

Your post is preposterous on every point. Yes, Elizabeth Schultz will raise issues that are not appropriate for a SB Member but it is almost always in response to an issue involving social engineering. She is also not as articulate as what she could be but her analysis is normally accurate. As for Grisafe, he will be a Member in the mold of Hough. I have not heard anything but moderate proposals from him and the most radical thing that he is proposing is zero based budgeting which will become increasingly necessary unless the commercial real estate market makes a big recovery.

As for Keys-Gamarra she has proven that she supports diversity but under everything I have seen all that she will accomplish is an exorbitant increase in the FCPS budget and the possibility of a BRAND NEW BILL for taxes to support the schools.

Vote all you want little citizens we are not going to let you off the hook for defeating the meals tax. We will get what we want eventually, always have always will.

Fairfax County voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton, on November 8, 2016.

Those very same people also overwhelmingly voted against the proposed Fairfax County Meals Tax, as well.

Do the math! The majority of voters who voted for Democrats, also voted against the proposed Fairfax County Meals Tax.

It's very plain and simple, Democrats, by a large degree, voted against the proposed meals tax because it was severely flawed, in both concept and in the promotional efforts to have voters to support it by voting 'Yes', which didn't happen.

I'm a very proud Democrat who proudly voted for Hillary and Tim and I didn't vote for the meals tax, either. I proudly voted 'No'!

Anyone being campaigned for on FXU is not worth voting for. Think about it people....
