The game started innocently..as "Dodge Ball" against a wall of the school..where teachers would not see. Older kids started ..a few against the wall.. more with the red rubber balls throwing um..the ones on the wall catching natch and changing sides..

Younger ones like me watched..and wanted to join in. We would be on the wall of course..In no time we would catch a ball and be the throwers..

Wrong..The Game then became "Smear The Queer" with the older ones beating the shit otta us with the ball. No way in Hell we could catch one..

At my kid's school they all play soccer. We used to play smear the queer all day every day in first and second grade back in the late 70s in the Fort Hunt area, the only rule was that there were no rules, great game for kids who are a little young for football or baseball.

I remember there was this one scrawny kid who had a weak bladder and at recess the entire class would chase him until he peed his pants, then he would run crying to the principal's office.

Now they call it crush the carrier

Smear the queer was a lot of fun back in the day. We used to play red rover I think it was called? Everyone would lock hands and someone would get like a 20 yard head start and try to break through. Couple people dislocated their shoulders as you would probably imagine.
