I have been to Kilroys on and off for 2-3 years. And while I don't drink Long Islands (I am a dude afterall), I have never has an experience like that.

My guess is that you were drunk or obnoxious and they didn't want to deal with you.

I have been to Kilroys many times and never experienced this before. There has to be more to this story.

I had been going to this place for years, they used to sponsor my little league team when I was a kid so I was a customer for over ten years, until I had a bad experience with the staff. I had an issue with my bill (I was charged for stuff I didn't order) and when I asked the bartender about it he told me it was hard for him to keep track of who ordered what and since he saw one of the guy's in the corner talking to me he assumed we were all together. I couldn't believe that he was actually giving me an attitude about the problem instead of just fixing it so I told him that it was his job to keep track of that sort of thing, being the bartender and all. He then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to step outside, at that point I just asked for a manager. The manger fixed the bill but I still think that after all of the trouble he should have comped my cheese burger and two beers. I told him I would never spend another dime in the place and the one time I have been there in the last five years I had a water.

No, I guess you can't read. I was calmly discussing the issue with the bartender when he started giving me an attitude so I made the comment "that it was his job
to keep track of that sort of thing, being the bartender and all", that's when he asked me if I wanted to take it outside. I didn't like his attitude and he didn't like my comment. He was not fired because the person who diffused the situation, his name was Chris and I think he worked there up until recently, he had redish hair and was over 6 feet tall, was a friend of mine and he stepped in and told this guy to go have a smoke and he would handle it. He fixed the bill and told me the guy gets flustered and loses his cool sometimes, he apologized multiple times and I paid my bill and told him that I would not be coming back.

I'm not surprised one bit, the owners there are assholes to most the non regular people although I will say they did serve me a pitcher of beer 5 minutes before last call one night which was cool

If you were there during happy hour and both drinks were for you then the bartender is correct. Dont kill me I am only the messenger but the state law only permits one person to have two mixed drinks at a time during happy hour. If you were ordering them for yourself and someone else that is different.

I HATE Kilroy's because the music is always MUCH too loud and the drinks are much too expensive. BUT, I have to report that at the old TGIFridays, the one in the Toilet Bowl Bldg, always had a two Long Island Iced Teas maximum policy.

We would go to Kilroys to get the prime rib owners cut... It was great back it the day. 90's....big salad with the works. All you can eat hot biscuits. Big cut of prime rib & a baked potato w/ butter & sour cream.

The last couple of times everything was wacked.. Salad was small, no tomatoes even. No biscuits. Cut of prime rib was small. Still tasted good but you could tell they had cut way back.....We haven't been back for lunch/dinner.

We don't drink the long island ice tea...

Anyone remember when it was called Uncle Sams, only served beer and wine. Great times on the cheap.

They just changed names, I think. I see the same owner when we go there. I don't remember any fights.. We didn't start any...We are way to cool for that.

They were Uncle Sams when the drinking age was 18 and they catered to the college crowd. When the drinking age was raised to 21 in the 80s they changed the name to break away from the college crowd reputation. The same thing happend to Fantastic Fritzbe's.

The last few times we went to Kilroys we got lousy food and lousy service. Haven't been there in probably ten years.

The carpet hasn't been cleaned since the place was Uncle Sam's, which is why the whole place stinks so bad of old puke, urine and cigarettes.

Get the story straight! The Sunset Grille, Shel did not send the WNC packing! it was the other way around dumb-ass. The second run for the kids we raised $7000.00 for Inova Hospital for Children. When they did the count. Shel hit the WNC with a bill of $3500.00. All the monies from the door was to go the Hospital. But, Shel and Kay took half. FACT! Forget it. We gave it another chance and it failed. Cheap ass cut of meat was very fatty. Cold baked potato. Place stunk to heaven. Service slow and just plain sucked.

I lived there in the '70's when there was Pup Fair and some sports store around the corner an Pizza Bizzano's.

Thanks for the update. I probably wont go back. There are enough places in NoVa to give a first chance to before I go back to Kilroys for their second chance.
I know I have never had a bad meal at Logans in Fair Lakes. The prime rib is very good, the prices reasonable and the place is very clean.

We went tonight for dinner. All I can say is gross. Never going back. Food sucked, server smelled like ciggs. And only saw her twice all night. And this was dinner time! Waited 40 minutes for some cold ass food. Never going back. Too bad. We live so close. Lets hope some new management comes through and cleans house. One day.

I've been there a few times, the foods just Ok, but the service is terrible. Not likely to go back.
