So the severe weather caused chaos today at WSHS. Apparently they sent the kids out to Sparta, despite several weather warnings, and then ran around screaming for everyone to go inside due to a possible tornado. According to my daughter, kids were tripping, falling down the stairs, and crying outside. The administrators were running around yelling and there was absolutely no order. Isn't this why schools have drills? Apparently Mr. Mukai was clueless and running around not knowing what to do. This is DANGEROUS. The school should have been closed today. I am shocked no students were injured. I think that we need to address this as soon as possible. The poorly executed renovation is an embarrassment to FCPS and it's only a matter of time before a serious injury occurs. We need competent leadership as soon as possible!

So your solution is to close schools when rain is predicted? Your daughter and her friends sound pretty lame. The takeaway here is that you failed as a parent.

Well not sure where you were - but my entire class had to run up the bleachers in the hail and rain to get inside. Several students and a faculty member slipped and fell down the metal bleachers and were injured. So no, it was not embellished. Students do not understand the logistical nightmare that is going on at WSHS. This is most certainly not normal.

There was no rain nor hail when we were called inside for the tornado warning. Having walked from the farthest end of Sparta, I would think I would know

I was near the back and know that the math teachers and social studies teachers were the last adults coming inside and most of my classmates went up the crowded stairs along the hillside.

I hadn't heard of a staff member getting hurt nor students getting hurt/injured.

As a student, I would say it's been a messy year with lots of ups downs and confusion but I have to say Spartan Teacher that you sir or ma'am sound like you have nothing better to do than complain like some of my classmates about everything.

Can I make a suggestion; if you're that unhappy with our school...why don't you leave or actually step up to Mr. Mukai and make suggestions for change instead of whining on an online message board.
