I just got a car - picked it up from out of state, and got 30 day in-transit tags..

is it ok to drive w/ that for now? i think i've had cops behind me at some point...

its just the fact that they call em "in-transit" tags when i'm using it for my daily commute.. makes it sound like they're specifically for transporting the car to get the necissary stuff..

edit: i gotta stop babbling here.. confuses the easily confused...

When you go to register it in VA, you may (probably) be hit up for some amount of sales tax. The 30 day tags are fine as long as the expiration date is not passed. BE SURE TO CONTACT YOUR CAR INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALERT THEM AND GET SOME KIND OF PROOF OF INSURANCE. Most big companies let you print this off from their web page.

In my neighborhood, if a resident complains that their car was towed because of some infraction (expired tags, parked in the same not reserved spot for too long, etc) the HOA says they will consider reimbursement as long as the resident shows a registration with a neighborhood address and proof of insurance. Amazingly, people still claim to have one of those small insurance companies that will not issue a proof of insurance statement or it can only be picked up in person in Oregon!

ya its 3% tax, which ends up being like 300 something...

I got insurance on it, and i printed it out.. and as far as parking permit - got it..

so it seems no worries!!!

Yeah my mom bought a car in Maryland and had those. She kept them till they expired when switched to VA tags. You do have to pay the sales tax difference.

I have a buddy who has a used car lot two states away. I am looking for a sweet deal used car from a local seller to take over there next time I visit and then bring another car from auction back. Basically I just want to take one car away(that I can sell at my buddys lot on consignment) and then buy another at auction to either keep or resell here depending on what's available.

I've got the return trip figured out, but can I as a VA resident get a transfer tag to take an just purchsed in VA, untitled car out of state to resell?

Is my family album online again? I set my fucking Flickr account to private, hackers.

Question was-

1)I buy a car in VA
2)I am buying the car to take out of state (or somewhere else for that matter)
3)I don't want to get a new title, registration etc.
4)but I don't have dealer tags

Can I get a temp tag from DMV for the sole purpose of transferring the carfor resale or to give to someone?

I have one thing to comment here - most kids, even in my AP English Language classes, can't write. In AP classes, most people can form sentences and write a three-paragraph essay with topic sentences, but that doesn't mean it's of any quality. Students are taught how to bullshit; in AP, we're taught to write to the test, and that's about it. I heard from my teacher, who also taught regular English, that many of her students can barely use the correct grammatical structures, much less write a coherent essay. I've seen some of that writing. I believe it. Once we get to eighth grade, English teachers seem to stop teaching writing skills and simply assign work to grade. Kids can't write nowadays, and it's a damn shame when someone can't communicate in the language they've spoken since childhood.

Yes, go to DMV and get a one-way in-transit tag. It's just a piece of paper that you tape in the rear window.

You should be fine. President Trump just signed some papers that should make everything easier for yourself.

No. You will be stopped by an officer and issued a citation. You may even be jailed.

What a stupid question. What a moron. Transit yourself back to wherever you came from and get out of this county.
