A few days before the town halls, for example, Our Revolution organizers had encouraged their followers to attend her town hall to “tell her not to repeal Obamacare without a GOOD replacement that covers everyone,” as Laurie Tyler Dodd wrote on the group page Jan. 25.

“If you live in her district (or nearby), give her a piece of your mind!” Dodd wrote.

Members of the same group also blasted Comstock for failing to visit Dulles Airport over the weekend to help anyone caught up in the travel ban chaos. Two other area Democrats, Reps. Gerry Connolly and Jamie Raskin, did visit the airport.

I can recall several times over the past 20 years when we would receive a message stating that some Federal, state or local elected leader would show up to our event, and on the day of the event a staff member would show up instead. What really happens is that like airlines these elected officials deliberately overbook, figuring that some events will get cancelled. If they don't the official shows up at what they consider the most important event and send underlings to the others with some lame excuse such as "the response indicating X would be in attendance at your event was in error and should have just said staff".

You're not fooling anyone with that message. We know it wasn't a mistake. Is it rude? Yes. Does it piss people off when the official does not show? Hell Yes. Is Comstock unique in doing this? No.

"Most important?" or safest. I would bet Barbara chose the mega-church and the Vietnamese holiday because they were not going to be angry Planned Parenthood-ACA loving rabid suburban moms and wives who are chomping at the bit to tell her to take her conservative votes, stick it where the good Lord split her, and then fix this mess she has been working on for the past few years.

From the looks of her Facebook page, nine out of 10 comments are angry, but well presented.

If she thinks it will just blow over, may I present to you, Ms Comstock, your friend Kelly Ayotte, who in her fist few months as a Senator voted against gun control measures right after Sandy Hook. Six years later, the voters did not forget that vote.
