(WJLA) - Fairfax County police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing in the Merrifield area of Fairfax, Va. Wednesday morning that sent one to the hospital in critical condition.

Around 8 a.m., neighbors said an argument took place in a home on Evelyn Court that ended with one person stabbing another.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, reportedly with life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled, and police say is still at-large.

Fairfax County police told ABC7 they believe this is "an isolated incident," and that they do not believe there is any immediate danger to the community. Police said they have reason to believe the victim knew his or her attacker.

As of Friday afternoon, the neighborhood was still closed off as officers continued to investigate the incident.
