When something like this becomes news, you know we're in trouble. Calm down! The fact that you see his gun means that we are all much safer. If he were a bad guy, he wouldn't have a permit. Why people so stupid?

When something like this legal to carry guns outside polling place issue becomes news, you know we're all in trouble. Calm down! The fact that you see his gun suggests we are all much safer. Permits are given to people without criminal records. Why are people so stupid?


Tips for better writing

Never use the word “this” without a noun or clarifying statement after it.

Whenever using the word “that,” make it a habit to remove the “That” from the sentence, and read the sentence again. Nine times out of ten, the sentence reads better without the word “that.”

When using the contraction “we’re,” the word “all” should follow most times. Read the sentence both ways to see which sentence is better for the reader.

You misused the word “means.” There are other words that fit the sentence better.

When you wrote “If he were a bad guy,” doesn’t make sense to the reader because “were” is past tense. Who is to know with certainty he is bad and he hasn’t been caught, or he is planning on doing something bad presently, or in the future?
