I took a close look at the property tax for my car and in addition to the taxes owed on the car there is one other line item, "local registration fee".
What the fuck is this??? We have to pay to register it with the state every year AND fucking pay to register it locally as well???

Yes.
It is called revenue.
Remember when we used to have the decals and then they got rid of them? They probably missed the money and came up with this.

That's not the worst of it. The real problem is that it's called a "personal" property tax. That's marxist code speak for justifying theft. Kind of like how I think of all leftists as cockroaches so that I won't hesitate when stomping time rolls around.

If the $35 registration fee were the 4 percent added meal tax, you would have to spend $875 on meals. The bottom line is the BoS is screwing us over with or without the meal tax.

Mine where different, 38, 33, 18 I have so many forms and they dont even show up on the pay page together nor do I get them all together. I guess the county decided to do away with the sticker fee to make it look like they gave us a break after the car tax reduction but stick it to us in other ways, as long as its still a tax and I can add it to my federal taxes. Trucks/Motorcycles/Trailers/Cars, older and newer, but its funny they still over value vehicles, we bought an avalanche in 2004 and they assessed it at 38,000 but we only paid 26,000. They sent threatening letters on our camper but its out of the county and WILL not be housed here, still waiting for them to try to bill us.

While I am sure this saves the government money in the short term, it was one of the stupider long term decisions Fairfax County made. Those stickers provided an easy indication of whether someone had paid personal property taxes.

Fairfax County is probably obligated to buy stickers from some board members brother in law for next couple decades. They are saving money by not having to mail you the sticker.
