Board of Supervisors Establishes Independent Auditor

Today, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to establish the Office of the Independent Auditor, a position recommended by the Ad Hoc Commission Subcommittee on Use of Force and supported by Supervisor Cook, Chair of the Public Safety Committee, as well as Ed Roessler, Chief of the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD).

This position will review all investigations of death or serious injury cases, as well as all use of force cases which are the subject of a public complaint made to the FCPD or the Auditor.

This position will report directly to the Board of Supervisors.

Do we have one of theses for the school system?
Someone to look over spending, areas of wast, etc..

this is a joke

they need one for their overspending.

Of course, that will never happen. They will always police themselves on that issue.

No way. Just because the BoS is forced to hand over >50% of tax revenues to the schools does not mean they have have any say in how it is spent, much less whether the massive fraud, waste, and abuse in FCPS is exposed to the public.

FCPS will NEVER hire an auditor that reports to the taxpayers. It's not in their interests, and can't be forced on them.
