FcPS paid "Dr." Eric Jensen $43,000 to train teachers and administrators. This worked out to about $9,000 a day. Many of Jensen's ideas have been roundly criticized, and, to date, no one from FCPS has stood up to justify why he was hired or what results he produced.

At 4%, the proposed meals tax, people would have to spend $1,075,000 to generate the $43,000 paid to Jensen. That's a lot of meals and just ONE example.

Want another one? Karen Garza gets $24,000/year for housing. To cover that, $600,000 would have to be spent on meals. It never ends.

There is NO way the meals tax would "save the schools" and there is NO guarantee that the Board of Supervisors would not also raise property taxes.

The meals tax is nothing but an invitation to FCPS to continue to waste money.

Vote NO on the meals tax on November 8.

Overriding your confirm using the Official FFU Seal Of Confirming power that I have been entrusted with by our creator, Cary. The OP is correct that supporters of the meal tax are stupid. As per usual, your checking was half-assed. Please leave the confirming to us professionals. You don't have the chops to do it.

Not to worry Joe, If the county gets away with this we'll have Chesapeake beat in about two years.

Go to the Fairfax County Government headquarters (aka the Taj Mahal), and you'll see a group of depressing, overweight, and often smelly employees who don't care a bit about Fairfax County.

They care about their paycheck, and retiring at 40 years old with a huge pension.

The County workers are so depressing, that you age about a 6 months just by talking to them for a few minutes.

Fairfax County used to be great, but now that it's been taken over by Liberal Progressives, it has sunk to shit level.

Fortunately, I have a big yard, so I don't have to deal with all the scum that the Government has recently let into this County, mostly Muslims, and all America-haters.

It is useful to look at this in terms of real numbers.

The numbers to sustain a contract and Garza's housing are scary.

So if the schools are really $100,000,000 (one hundred million!) short, what would it take to fix that?

$2,500,000,000 in meals sales.

Using the pro-meals tax example of $2.11 in taxes per meal, that's 47,393,365 meals. Has anyone worked this out to see if it is realistic, or is it, as another poster suggested, just another money grab by the school board?

Get your facts straight. The limit for meals tax is 4%. This is by state law!
