Poor Suzy Q and her one job that only pays $40,000 a year still has to pay the $1,500 a month rent by herself while Paco just moves Maria in with him and gets her to move in her relatives and bam, the $1,500 is covered by 4+ working adults instead of one.

This IS the problem in fairfax county. Remember being able to work at HECHT'S or HECHINGER'S or even being a MAID in fairfax county and being able to afford a cheap studio apartment at least? Can't now. The illegals took all those low-paying service and retail jobs then crammed all the low-income housing so now the only way Suzy Q gonna make it in this world is get a STEM degree and make $60k+ a year- or MARRY someone rich. Suzy Q just working at starbucks part time can in NO WAY get an apartment on her own. Corporate doesn't care they know the illegals will pay the rent and if one can't pay it the othe 5 can chip in to cover since they don't want to lose their house being illegal. Suzy Q can just up and move if she can't pay.

To add-- after a quick search (apartments.com, rent.com, etc) the cheapest 1 bedroom apartment i could find in ALL of fairfax county was $1100- and that was in an income-restricted area.

$1100x 36 (average rent calculation)= $39,600 to qualify.


Even most starbucks MANAGERS and Admin support staff in the government don't make that much. Entry level accountants and such. They can't afford ANYTHING in Ffx ahd have to move out to Prince William if they want their own place- and even there the cheapest 1 bedrooms are $800 but in the HOOD.

We are the second wealthiest county in the US, our rents are fine compared to the median income. You're just poor and probably live paycheck to paycheck.

Blame in on the military. Landlords know exactly what they get for off base housing and adjust accordingly. And its pretty high living even for enlisted.

I just effing hate it, despise it, that I have to pay property taxes and such to support all the foreign new immigrant (illegals) in the school system.
Paying for Mohammed, Paco, Chong-Lee, Phuong, Rajesh, Sook, Nyguen, and Abimbola.

Schools here have gone completely crap.

On that note, who the Hell would want to be a teacher in FFX County.
