lol call the police and ask. They may be obligated to tell you.

I have found that if you call the police, pretend to be a reporter and express interest in hanging out at something like that so you can report it in a story later, the cops will vomit the details, practically tripping over themselves. Those cocksuckers love to let the world see them fucking everyone.

I might beliee you if you said they use you in the back room for "stress relief".

Cops f-ing hate it when the news reports speed-traps. No way they would tell a reporter those kinds of details. RESton is just bs-ing.

Police have been running the radar gun on people headed south on rt 28. The officer sits under the bridge for the exit to Udvar-Hazy Center (the air and space museum). I am not clear whether he is trying to nail anyone on the road, or just people on the exit.

People can top 90MPH on that stretch of 28. I should say, there are many instances in which people DO top 90 there. So no surprise the police have been sitting there every day for a few weeks now.

I haven't seen anyone driving that fast there. 70-75MPH seems to be about as fast as anyone ever goes there, that I've seen.

And, I drive that road 5 days a week..

I drive it 5X2 as well, dude, and I see people routinely blowing by at reckless speeds. Just saw a guy in a miata convertible FLY by me when I was going 65 in pretty heavy traffic. He changed three lanes with no signal and finally slowed down due to the backup at Willard rd.

Between 6:30PM and 7:00PM, which is when I come through there, there isn't anything like that going in.

In fact traffic is often going at about 65MPH, with traffic in the right lane often going 60MPH or even 55MPH.

I often end up passing cars in the right lane in the middle lane at 65MPH after I merge on from McLearen (which, by the way, that on-ramp is a little short).

It wouldnt matter if the papers did post the location of the speed traps. The majority of people in Fairfax dont understand English anyway.
The cops were on Burke Centre last Thursday and I think they ran out of tickets there were so many dummies just flying down the road.
The cars were flashing their lights to warn the idiots but they just fell right into the trap.

millions of people must get killed on that road because it's clearly REALLY dangerous with so many speeders. or wait... maybe the limit is just too low and it's a revenue road.

Speaking of the Udvar hazy exit and other exits with same design, is it illegal to get on the exit ramp but not exit and get back on, thereby avoiding several hundred feet of traffic?

I don't know, but that's a pretty retarded thing to do if you're at that exit on 28 heading north and it's past about 9:00AM.

You'll have to get out a map to figure out what else you can do if you're heading in that direction.

I think 40 mph on Burke Centre Parkway is reasonable....what with numerous businesses and uncontrolled residential intersections.

I know you guys aren't going to believe this, but speed traps on residential streets are almost ALWAYS the result of citizen complaints about speeders. The old bat across the street from me calls the police often and like clockwork the cops show up with their radar gun. It's actually kind of amusing to sit on my porch swing and watch their faces when the cop waves 'em over. After all, they're cutting through my neighborhood on their way to work.....and 55-60mph in a 25 zone isn't really so bad......is it?

Didn't somebody get killed last year about this time on Rt 28 by the Udvar-Hazy Center. Somebody rear-ended a family at a light because they couldn't in time at a stop?

The cop I saw under the bridge was clearly holding a radar gun while standing in the open door of his car, so he was probably using it.

gravis, millions dont get killed but I know of three recently so yes people do get killed there.
Quit crying, the speed limit is 40 so they give you 50 before you get a ticket.

Most of the measured speeds on burke centre parkway are usually around 65-70, How fast do you want them to make the speed limit just so you can get home and read what people are calling you on the internet?

The hell are you smoking? When I have to get up to Mclaren Rd and its bout 8 o'clock, backup starting about Rt. 50, its great way to get to McLaren. Just drive on 100 feet of shoulder. (illegal yes, but you don't get caught, its the retard behind you who tries it and gets stuck)

I'm not smoking anything.

There's another way to get to McLearen road when you're heading north on 28 when it's jammed up past 50, but you'll need either a navigation system or map-reading skills to find it as I won't divulge it.

Don't want too many people using it, you know.

You're close. You can turn around on the Air & Space Museum Parkway bridge if it's jammed up there.

Then exit at 50 to get where you want to go.

Princess33 If you really do work for the police can you tell me why they allow those yuppie bitches to park each school day on Burke Centre Parkway across from the Giant? They block up the right lane and then back up onto the side streets. I am not lying when I say there has to be over 50-60 SUV's just sitting there with engines running.

It is ridiculous. They are picking up their little darlings from school. Heaven forbid that Madison and Taylor should have to ride the cheese wagon.
