There does not appear to be a very compelling reason to vote YES to a Fairfax County Meals Tax. There's a lot of rhetoric and hand waving going around, but no solid case being made. Voting no doesn't really require any justification, it's the obvious and default response unless someone can provide convincing reasons that taxes should go up. There is no guarantee or expectation this would ever pass, so the county has to be operating under the assumption this money won't be there. They should find ways to cut spending and make better choices.

They really do tout 29 Diner's support for the Fairfax County Meals Tax. That's completely ridiculous given 29 Diner is in Fairfax City. That's kind of a sleazy way to operate. 29 Diner should take 4% of its net receipts each day and cut a check to Fairfax County. I guarantee they won't reject the money. They should put their money where their mouth is or just shut up altogether
