17-year-old Swimmer Missing at Lake Barcroft, Feared Drowned

At around 7:31 p.m. on July 14, Fairfax County Police responded to a report of a 17-year-old male who had disappeared while swimming in Lake Barcroft in Falls Church.

Rescue units were unable to locate the youth, and the rescue mission has been transitioned to a recovery effort.

Probably a giant carp got him. He was missing most a leg from above the knee.

Swimming should be a required skill for football players. Some defensive players know the "swim technique" on the LINE, but I am talking REAL swimming skills .. it may save your life one day.

Perhaps, he had a medical emergency while in the lake?
