Missing Swimmer Found in Lake Barcroft

After an extensive recovery effort for a 16-year-old swimmer in the waters of Lake Barcroft, that began shortly after 7:30 last evening, it ended in the recovery of his body today just before 3 a.m.
The deceased has been identified as Jeremy Munga, 16, of Falls Church. Next of kin has been notified. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
At this time, there does not appear to be anything suspicious, and therefore, no apparent threat to public safety. The investigation is ongoing.
The Fairfax County Police Department will provide further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.

On Thursday, July 14, police responded to the 6400 block of Lakeview Drive, around 7:31 p.m. for a report of a 16-year-old boy who was swimming at Lake Barcroft and disappeared from the water’s surface. Witnesses immediately called 9-1-1 and directed police, fire, and rescue units to the location upon arrival. Unfortunately, this incident has transitioned from a rescue mission to recovery effort. The investigation is ongoing.

Of course there is nothing suspicious. There never is. Bodies are popping up right and left in bodies of water all over the county and the police ALWAYS say there is nothing suspicious and no foul play is involved. Potential murderers take note!
