Similar story. Paid $4500 for a used car so our daughter could drive to her part time job and classes at NOVA. Exactly 34 days later, the rear-end / differential blew out. We had purchased 2 new cars from them previously and Ted Britt could have cared less. We were happy to pay for the repairs at cost, but they felt the need to gouge us further. Do not buy any car from them without a warranty. Better not to deal with them at all as they do not value even repeat customers.

Bought a used Ford Escape from Ted Britt. They were good. No hustle. Took a grand off the price, gave me a good deal on trade in. They do have the Ted Britt for life warranty even on used cars as long as the car has 50k or less on it. The only caveat is that you have to take it to them for all the scheduled maintenance.

Translates to: "Take A Butt Fucking For Life"

I bought a used vechical there and paid extra for a warenty
Fist time I took it in for service, at tedd britt, I was told that I bought a junk warenty and it didn't cover much......

why do they sell used cars at Ford tedd britt and also at smartwheels?

Smartwheels sells the junk they can sell to regular retail customers.

I've had a sister had problems ... they kept suggesting fixes that didn't work and wanted it all paid out.

I bitched them the hell out saying they were responsible for "fixes" that didnt' correct the initial problem.

They tried to weasel saying "yes all these were bad and had to be corrected first". I let him know: show me the parts. Your still responsible to correct a problem the first time not the 5th time - and your still not replacing things I can deduce were not part of the problem complained of.

The hispanic service writer did at that point eat his words and give a discount.

a small shop would never have even talked about it - they'd just have insisted you dont get your car back if you dont pay

obviously in this case the mechanic was a bad one - suggesting work that didn't need to be done

yet if you dont ask for a master to work on a difficult problem: you will get some wrong answers

i've been in the place to get OEM parts not closer to me - and for a recall that wasnt service any closer due to xxxx

i notice one thing: they keep better customer records than about anyone

other dealers intently shuffle and loose records (i can prove that), Tedd Brit gets 10 stars for having all records visible and impecibly kept

if you have a VALID complaint the record is there to argue

if your car has a complex proble: they have the record and have a better chance than anyone to "get to the real problem" causing other problems

the service writers and cashier appeared to be locals not foreigners with accents

i enjoyed being there, didn't feel pushed or booted while there

well, i go there for haircuts

How is their service dept?
