So all you Democrat FCPS, and federal government workers - how do you feel knowing a felon (conviceted of rape, assault, robbery, breaking and entering, you know routine stuff...) will vote the same way as you? They believe in the same things, want the same outcomes as you do.

How does that feel? Why not invite one of these newly reinstated Democrats over to dinner? Leave the house for a while and leave your kids with them. Please. That would be so awesome.

Normal people feel secure enough that they do not need to demonize the other side. There is a large difference between restoring voting rights, as part of a rehabilitation, and giving the felon free rein to your house. I wouldn't let the average FU poster anywhere near my house, felony or not.

FWIW, I am casually acquainted with two individuals who are in prison for felonies. One is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican. The other could be as well.

The answer to this question is simple. Just like their leader, Hillary Clinton - (who is a liar, a criminal, and a traitor) - democrats have no conscience.

Out of the population of democratic politicians and business people, the party has chosen to champion a woman who is the most corrupt person possible. Despite what you say in public dems, we know the YOU KNOW Hillary is corrupt.

Today's Democrats must admire Richard Nixon. The Democrat's main gun control bill -- which relies on the no-fly list -- is simply government through the use of secret lists and lack of due process. Nixon would be proud.

I think he'd particularly like their gall in being public about the secret lists and suspension of due process. Nixon had do so in private.

I'm actually surprised that the Democrats now adopt the same tactics they once decried. But that's a part of how the party is changing. The party that once stood for "I disagree with what you say but will defend the to death your right to say it" now seeks to use the power of government to curtail speech (e.g. climate change).

There has been a movement in Virginia for some time to provide for automatic restoration of voting rights. Were you paying attention when as a candidate McAuliffe said voting rights should be restored to felons? Were you paying attention when McDonnell said essentially the same thing? Were you paying attention when McDonnell used his executive authority to create a streamlined path to felons getting their voting rights restored? Have you been paying attention to legislative efforts to make this change? Apparently not because you assume this whole thing happened solely so that McAuliffe could deliver more Democratic votes for Hillary. More than just the vote, restoring felons’ privilege to vote says there’s no point in being a law abiding citizen. Just as allowing illegals to jump in the front of the line of those immigrants going through the legal process of becoming a citizen. It doesn’t pay to obey the law. It pays to break it. I have 3 (yes, three) family members who served time for felony convictions. All three are vocal Trump supporters, and I'd bet most of the white prison population supports him too. Trump owns the bottom rung voters, the low-educated gun nuts who hate minorities and treat women like shit.

The illiteracy of present-day right-wingers extends to a great deal more than bumbling incapacity with the English language. They can't do history, math, or science either, and don't expect them to handle anything resembling or requiring logic. These are people who lack key elements of even a basic intelligence who have to go huddle up to be told what the play call is before they have any notion of what to say about anything. There is only one "side" actively engaged in efforts to upend the Voting Rights Act and diminish access to the polls for targeted qualified voters. It's been going on for quite a while now, and to understand why, go read Judis and Teixeira, The Emerging Democratic Majority, 2002. It's widely available, and it scares the shit out of the GOP. What's between the covers of that book is what was behind the phony ACORN smear, the otherwise pointless photo-ID campaign, the effort to restrict college student voting, the disenfranchisement of felons, and of course, the current Supreme Court case (Evenwel v.
