Bitchin about a meals tax, Go whole Hog and FXCO become a city the largest in Va and you can have meals tax, hotel tax, other tax and fix the roads that the state of Va is seeming to abandon. The state would have to give the City of Fairfax County the money they now spend on roads.

Shit or get off the Pot..

My wife is a FCPS teacher and this should finally give her that long awaited raise. Please keep eating high on the hog in these parts so we can fix the leaking roof on our trailer.

Hell, you can't order out any more without ordering at least $25.00 worth of food.
And that doesn't include all the add-ons: gas add-on fee for delivery; 20% tip added in; $5.00 delivery add-on fee; If you are working late and just want a single meal or sandwich delivered it costs you the whole $25 ++ to just get them to deliver.

Would Sea Pearl, Mortons, Silver Diner, and Ted's Bulletin (to name a few) be exempt from this meals tax? After all, most of their business comes from FCPS.

Whether we have a meals tax is no longer a theoretical argument. If you really care, either way, the time has come to get off your ass, go out and start working to try to see your position prevails.

The tax-and-spend, support-those-sucking-on-the-government-teat types don’t care if a meals tax hurts business or consumers. All that matters is another revenue source. Property taxes were just raised by a significant amount. We shouldn’t need a meals tax now.

I'd rather pay a few bucks more each time I CHOOSE to go out to eat than have my real estate taxes go up, beyond my control.

The meals tax is a good idea. A fair amount of tourists come here as well as our servants from Manassas. We can collect money from them. We need to make sure the food service operations at GMU get the tax too.
