Arthur Treachers

I absolutely love fish and chips. Growing up, Arthur Treachers was the shit. Flash forward 30 odd years and AT is very hard to find, if at all. I know there's one over in Marlow Heights on Oxon Hill Road but the 'neighborhood' leaves a lot to be desired. Are there any out in NOVA?

Lee Hwy is the only one left in Virginia.

There was one on Rt. 1, at Beacon Hill, for as long as I could remember, but it closed fairly recently.

I stopped by on occasion - usually for a Hush Puppy craving - and over the last decade, I rarely saw more than one table occupied. It always amazed that they were open at all, and it was clearly just a matter of time.

They'll be missed. Long John Silver's just isn't the same.

There was an incident a while back where a lady found a pubic hair in her coke there. I don't remember if it was at Arthur Treacher's or Long Dong Silver's.

After that, I avoided both of them. Now I go to McCormick & Schmick, Legal Seafoods, the Chart House, or Phillips if I get a seafood craving (or McDonald's Fillet O Fish when it is on sale). Legal Seafoods hush puppies are almost as good as Arthur Treacher's were.
