Old Rag - secret trail that starts behind Byrd's Nest cabin

Has anyone else here hiked the trail that starts on the other side of Byrd's Nest cabin? I found it by accident when I was looking for a place to take a dump. I followed it for a ways. I didn't want to go too far since I was alone. It looks like it leads to that big round boulder..

Some big ass fires down on the RT 33 area. The fucking park is going up in goddamn flames. Some shithead set Skyline drive on fire, and the hole area is burning the hell up.

Thousand of acres have already gone up in smoke.

Also the humidity is VERY low -- not helping matters:

"The weather that we wrote about earlier today is no doubt the catalyst for this increase. The relative humidity was even lower than the forecast, bottoming out at 13 percent, very low for anywhere — extremely low for the eastern United States."

if you're referring to the south/east face of the mountain, that trail led down to Ragged Run and Rt 645/Rider Hollow Lane. the old topos show it as a 4x4 trail. probably ends up in someone's back yard.
