When did this gem become an FCPS course? Is there any possibility at all that this is nothing more than PC training?

Yes, you nailed it. It could just represent a thought provoking discussion of views regarding race, gender, and so forth - just like it says. But that's no fun - there always has to be a hidden agenda, doesn't there?

I don't see anything in the course description about race and gender. Where are you getting that from?

FCPS is sliding steadily in the shitter, but they are creating classes like this, giving middle schoolers "mindfulness" instruction, and working on trans bathrooms? No wonder...this nonsense, as well as the "open arms/open wallets" policy where resource-draining locust people (ie future democratic voters) are concerned, is all self-inflicted wounds for FCPS.

You have got to be kidding. 'Topics of study include the nature of prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination'. Who the heck do you think they're talking about?

Mindfulness is a Buddhist religious practice. It has no place in public schools paid by public taxpayers. In fact, Fraklin Middle School is forcing it on middle schoolers April 20 and forcing teachers to teach it under the guise of promoting calmness. It is astonishing. We should be so lucky to teach Christian and Judiasm in public school. We are banned but a Buddhist religious practice is welcomed with open arms. What is wrong with this imbalance? We should teach all religions or none at all.

Christianity and Judaism are offensive because they offer truth and represent the unpopular notion that human beings have a sinful nature and require "fixing" or redemption through blood sacrifice.

The idea that we need "fixing" is too insulting for the elite all-knowing who are promoting "mindfulness" instead because the notion that humans have a sinful nature to them is just downright degrading in their unvierse-sized, ompnipotent "they know better and what's best for you and your children " brains of theirs.

The principles in Judaism and Christianity also are far too restrictive, because they are based on scripture which is written by man but which claims to be inspired by God -- and this scriptire makes it appear that God does not approve of things like a man having sexual relations with other men, or women doing the same, or having sex with animals.

This is too restrictive and demeaning for folks who are led in that direction. The Liberal PTB who apparently are smarter than God or better yet, feel that God does not exist, but is a man-made fairy tale.
They feel that the Buddhist practice of Mindfulness is the solution to a lot of problems ... and not facing the possibility that God does exist and does have His own plan for mankind who he created in the beginning.

Our society would rather make people feel comfortable in the deviant behaviors which eventually become self-deestructive, than do the tough work of getting real help for people and calling things as they are.

Meditation is a good thing usually, even if if means 5 or 10 minutes of silence before we start our day, but the benefits of our tratitional faith should be covered as well.
We are becoming further out of touch from the healthfulness of reality.

God doesn't like lots of stuff
Why did you just mention those?
For most they sine every day but figure it's no big deal (god like judgement) and focus on those sins they don't generally do

What purpose does this kind of crap serve other than to indoctrinate kids with someone's preferred political and social philosophy? Screw STEM - let's give them left-wing propaganda instead.

Let's teach them how we can't tolerate the intolerant.

This is absolutely true. Don't fool yourself. They are out of control. Get involved. Stay involved. Find out what they are actually teaching. Not just the course titles. You may need to offer a second opinion to some teacher's far-off ideas.
