Helicopter in the springfield area

I noticed that the FFX helicopter was in the springfield area from 3am to 5am and it was flying really low. Does anybody know what was going on? Freaked my wife out.

These questions need to be asked right when it is happening. We can tune into the police scanner server on teamspeak and tell you.

teamspeak scanner??
I googled teamspeak and attempted to register with Scannerbuff but it was
saying I was already a member, its f(*ked up. Would you recommend another site that I register in.

no, we use a teamspeak client (anyone can download the teamspeak client software and install it), and connect to this free server using the "quick connect":

boris.serveirc.com

A guy named Terry broadcasts the local FFX scanner feeds on there, I haven't done it in awhile but it's great that he took the time to set it up.

I don't know about this time, but when I worked in Sprinfiled there would be blackhawks and Marine Ones all the time going to Davison Army Airfield on Belvoir. The Marine One squadron headquartered in Quantico, but there seemed to be a lot of them ferrying VIPs in and out of Belvoir.

Hi,

I am Terry - the owner and operator of the local server where you can listen to FFX county PD and FD 24/7. Everyone is welcome. I also have a Dulles ATC channel where you can listen to incoming and outgoing aircraft traffic into the Potomac ATC and in particular Dulles Airport.

Here are the instructions for accessing my scanner via the internet.

1. Download the Teamspeak Client version 2.0.32.60 from http://www.goteamspeak.com

2. Install the client on your windows machine by double clicking on the file you downloaded. Go through the normal accept license stuff with the installer.

3. At the end of the installation it will ask you whether you want to load the codecs. Make sure you click yes. That will complete the installation.

4. You should now have an icon on your desktop that says Teamspeak 2 RC2. Click this to start the program.

5. Go to the first menu item that says "Connection" and click on connect (the first menu item)

6. This will bring up a connection dialog. The first time through you will need to "add" a server by right clicking on the left hand side of the dialog box where it says servers (actually right click on the item just underneath servers). This will allow you to give the server a name. You can call it anything you want.

7. Now on the right hand side of the connection dialog fill in the following fields:

Server Address: boris.serveirc.com
Nickname: a name of your choosing

Underneath Nickname you will see a radio button that says anonymous. Click on that.

8. At the bottom hit the button that says Connect.

9. You are done. You should now be connected to the server. Make sure your volume control is set and that the sound on your computer is not muted.
