Wondering why your commute was so bad on 66 this morning?

It took me 90 minutes to get from Haymarket to Herndon this morning, which normally takes about 30 minutes (if I leave by 5:30am). This morning one of the snow trucks dropped its equipment from the back blocking the left lane.

If you think that's bad, check out this flipped over snow plow from PW County.

My commute was rough & tough this mornign.

I had to navigate from the bedroom to the kitchen. It was 9 am and I was much grogy.

On the way to the kitchen my bladder warning system was activated.

At that same time my dog barked in morse code to inform me he needed a piss as well.

All to say, I survived.

I am going back to bed until about noon.

What a stressful start to the day.

Haha you live in haymarket. What a terrible decision you have made. Enjoy future traffic jams.

Usually the commute is great, but not this morning. It sure beats all those taxes you guys pay in Fairfax. Imagine being taxed for eating lunch in Vienna. Hhahahahahahahhaha!

They actually did several times. They mentioned that the backup on 66 starting from Haymarket all the way up to the Fairfax County parkway exit. I got off on 29 at the Centreville exit to cut through to work this morning.

Was in that mess also this morning but I was riding the bus so I slept through it. Noticed traffic was slow so I just shut the eyes and went asleep. Took and hour and half to get to work but I got some extra sleep. I don't mind it happening going to work but get pissed when I'm trying to get home. No money out of my pocket. Government transportation subsidy paid for my ride and sleep.

I would say that they should have delayed us for 2 hours. Damn kids got another break by being delayed. Had we been delayed then the mess on I66 would not have been so bad.

Just great! I used to be able to get where I wanted to without getting up in the wee hours of the morning. I used to be able to go into DC at any time without traffic. Now I find myself getting up earlier and earlier. THERES JUST TOO MANY PEOPLE! I wish DC and all the related jobs would move to somewhere more fitting. Like LA, NY, or some other shithole city where the citizens enjoy their 5 hour commute.

I got on at Gainesville and was like "what the fuck". When I heard the backup was to the parkway, I bailed onto 234 bypass, went through southern manassas, through Clifton and hooked back up with the parkway at Braddock. Only took 1 hour, 10 min which is only 20 min longer than my typical commute to Reston when leaving at 630. And I know that I got to work before my neighbor who works in Chantilly and left 5 min before I did. Took him 2 hours.

What a dreadful existence to have to drive on 66 every morning, all you pussy whipped fuckers who bought their wives the giant houses, almost as bad as taking Metro. Used to be my office was ten minutes away, that was great, I'd come home for a three bong hit lunch, now I'm 20 minutes away, haven't smoked in a while anyway. I can even catch a ballgame after work and be home 20 minutes after the last out.

I have no idea how people do it. I would fucking snap! My hat is off to people who make that ride, You get punished in the morning, Then get violently ass fucked in the evening. That's on a good day with no accidents!!!
Just like the poor fucks that have to take 28 south during the evening rush hours.

Why would you put yourself through this? I understand having a good job, but sweet suffering christ on a carousel, I would go insane.

I would rather sit on 66 than live in DC. That place is a fucking joke.

I survive it by leaving no later than 5:30am that way you beat the traffic. I usually leave work at 4pm and traffic going home is well, "Manageable".
