FCPS Makeup Days Start After One More Snow Day

I was just looking at the FCPS schedule and noticed that FCPS has missed a total of 12.7 days.
One more snow days and FCPS will be doing makeup days April 22.
Bet's on FCPS will have to do makeup days? We usually get one large snow storm at the beginning of February.

The OP is an asshole. As of next Monday, FCPS will have missed 7 school days this year -- Jan 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29. Chances of actually reaching 12.7 do of course exist, but are very slim indeed.

You better read the FCPS site on days missed. Your total is way off. It's 76 hours before a make up day. Do the math on the hours including late days.

FCPS has only missed around 6 days or 36 hours thus far so that means there is another 6 days built in or 38 hours left.

may be depressing but it is what is has always been. FCPS used to operate under the 180 day requirement schedule but changed to the 990 hour requirement schedule a few years ago to build in the extra snow days.

The same as every county in the state. We have a two week break for Christmas and when roads are dangerous we close. Been like that for a hundred years. You act surprised?

The hysteria of people like OP is amusing. There is not a thing different about this year. I suppose the years when FCPS doesn't use many snow days and then decides to close the school year a few days ahead of schedule OP goes nuts than also?

FCPS will have used exactly SEVEN snow days as of tomorrow afternoon (Friday).

Jan. 25
Jan. 26
Jan. 27
Jan. 28
Jan. 29
We can use up to FOURTEEN days without a make-up.
So, we still have SEVEN snow days to use.
In the highly unlikely event that we use EIGHT more snow days, then we have to go to school on the Friday after the third quarter ends, April 22.
This also means that the school board still has the opportunity to listen to what Brian S. has been preaching and close on March 1 so we can volunteer at the polls.

Man sign me up. Private sector gets 0 ZERO snow days, 6 holidays, and 3 paid days off which include sick leave. Really tired of paying for all of this for government employees.

I got a few days off my corporate job for snow this week, and I get 4 weeks vacation and 10 sick days. AND I make double what my teacher spouse does. Sounds like you need to find a new employer.
