The reasons for the war were complex.

But it is a fact, one of the many reasons was to end slavery. You can't diminish it by cherry picking a quote from 'Loewen'.

Had you actually done your own thinking and research on James Loewen. You would find he says the same thing ... it was complex.
For instance, he says the Confederates were against states rights and didn't want New York to have the ability to ban 'slavery transit' through their state.

But hey, keep on derpin' in the free world.
