As I got on the bus to school there was something missing, the chatter, talking, and gossiping had all but ceased. There were high schoolers in the
back sobbing and grieving. I didn't realize what had happened until someone had told me. Somebody killed himself.

This is a tragic thing; his friends and family will forever ask why. Kid was well liked and a football player.
For one of the nations wealthiest and best educated counties, I am dumbfounded by the inane comments of many posters. Can tolerate it for topics like Bigfoot and girls basketball but not for loss of life, especially so young.

In my opinion this website is extremely repulsive. So many people just talking trash about one another, having no remorse or proof of the allegations being made. This site is filled with people who have nothing better to do than hurt other from behind a computer screen. Why this should be a website about helping others and passing information around a community not a war zone where people put other people on trial and say horrible things about people. The suicide rate at Woodson--and just Woodson--is out of control. I have this crazy idea: Is it possible that maybe a teacher/admin/coach/whoever at this school is some kind of child abuser?
All the victims are male, and the suicides are averaging 2 a year now. Some of them have been from the "popular" group, and the least likely to commit suicide.
I dunno, something is wrong at Woodson, and it's more than just the pressures to conform, get good grades and go to college.

I have a large collection of firearms. I posted that one because it has 30 round mags. I love to shoot this gun because it's cheap fun. Im not going out and blasting away with one of my 9mm's or AR-15's and just throw ammo away. Its hard enough to keep stockpiled now without wasting it. The GSG is my fun gun but Im sure I could still stop an intruder pretty quickly with it.

I'm just appalled by the inconsiderate assholes on this website. He wasn't skipping school thinking he was a badass. He wasn't trying to inconvenience the commute for everyone on that train. Who fucking knows what he was thinking, even we don't know if it was on purpose or not. You assholes didn't get to see this, but his best friends were bawling in the halls, in the library, everywhere. Almost all of the 10th grade left school early. There's no way you can say he wasn't a huge part of our community, having over a 4.0 GPA and being a three sport athlete. Just get one thing straight before you assume you know shit, he was one of the most loved guys at Woodson.

As I recall, they wanted to diffuse some of the pressure from the penalties associated with drug use, and some other things. One of the suicide victims had been caught using something, was expelled or suspended, and later killed himself. Sadly if you do a search on suicide here on FFU, you'll see tons of articles on it.

As a parent of a Woodson student, I am so very sorry for all the kids tonight. Those that knew Jack and those that didn't. Please, if you are feeling so stressed, or sad, or lonely, bullied, whatever...talk with someone. Nothing is so bad that suicide should be a go-to.

Leaving school early was a way to get away from the trajedy, as it was centered around the grieving kids. No, anybody who wanted to leave could, I was saying that he had more friends in the 10th grade than any other so of course that's who the majority of the kids who left early were. He had friends in every grade, but we the sophomores as a whole were hit the hardest.

W.T. Woodson has dealt with some of the worst student deaths in the past two years. Many people here have watched their friends die. For you to make jokes out of a tragic death is absolutely sick and disgusting. It is an insult to not only Woodson High School, but also every person touched by this loss. I guarantee that if you had to experience what our school is going through, you would most definitely be just as frustrated by the inconsiderate, inhumane, and unacceptable comments made on this forum.
