Fairfax County police have begun arrests at a Springfield 7-Eleven for trespassing, police said last week.

Lieutenant David M. Smith said at a March 16 Citizen Advisory Committee meeting that people hanging around the 7-Eleven at 6225 Backlick Road were arrested and charged with trespassing. As of Wednesday, no trial had taken place.

At a CAC meeting in February, Smith said he had met with Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay (D) to discuss the problem after complaints about men hanging out around the store. In order to prosecute the men, Smith explained, police had to get an agreement from the operators of the 7-Eleven that they would prosecute for trespassing. After getting that agreement and permission from the Commonwealth's Attorney, police were ready to begin arrests.

"We've got everything we need to do, to do what we need to do," Smith said at February's CAC meeting. He added that they would hold one court day a month for arrests at the 7-Eleven.

Although the arrests have just begun, Smith said last week that it looks like they're having an impact.

"There wasn't anybody there today," he said.

That's equal to 12%. but the average Federal tax rate we pay is about 20%. So someone isn't paying their taxes = 8% = about 6 Billion Dollars we are losing out on, ANNUALLY. Of course, we all pay extra to make up for the extra burden placed upon upoon our schools, the free medical care, subsidized housing costs, jailing those convicted of Felonies, the lost lives taken by those who drive drunk (a nun and a retired Army Officer in teh last year) and a host of other subsidies that is now on the back of the average American.

I just can't make that leap that illegal immigrants are making a positive impact upon our society. Are there any good stories out there?

A couple of years ago all the illegal aliens threatened to stay home for a day so everyone could see all the jobs they do not getting done. It didn't seem like such a good idea as everyone would also be reminded how easy it could be getting in and out of convenience stores.
