Country club membership and costs in Vienna/Fairfax

My family is moving to the Vienna area and I wanted to get some insight into the different country clubs in the area. Specifically, I'm interested in knowing the costs associated with them (initiation, monthly fees, etc.). The more detail the better (e.g. costs for different membership tiers, like golf vs. pool/club only). I'd also be interested in any insight into the process of becoming a member (e.g. what's required, whether you need a current member referral, etc.). Thanks!

Call the country clubs. It's that fucking easy. Google COUNTRY CLUB FAIRFAX and start clicking links. No one is going to create a spreadsheet for you with details, you lazy fuck.

Besides, no one on this website has enough money for a country club membership.

Anyone who says they do is lying. If FFXU users could afford to have friends or play golf they wouldn't be posting racist clap-trap here.

Did you hear the one about the priest, the Jewish rabbi, and the colored boy?

Yeah...I don't worry about comparison shopping and spreadsheets and which has what or where or who or when...

I just went ahead and joined them all.

You can't afford it and you aren't invited.

Not ALL private clubs require an invite. Golf and country club life are on the decline. Memberships are down. People don't want to spend their time that way as much as they used to.

Most, NOT ALL, private clubs in the DC area...if you have the scratch, you can join. Obviously, if you go in there and don't follow the rules, they'll dismiss you and refund you the difference. They aren't that desperate.

Now you take a place like Burning Tree Country Club? Yes, there you need an invite.

I would never join a club that had people like me as members.

If you have to ask "How Much?" you can't afford it!

Springfield and Fairfax are about the same $40K initiation (payable over time) and about $600/mo. for full golf membership. Social is much cheaper.

Both are good clubs. I'd say Springfield is more family oriented but the food is much better at Fairfax. Everything at Springfield tastes like banquet food not restaurant food if you know what I mean.

Both run deals occasionally by offering reduced initiation fees. As for membership, just call the membership director and pay the fees and you're in. They both have a process but they both need more members so you'll get right in.

I was googling around trying to find the initiation fees for some of the local clubs and most of the clubs don't post their fees so its not that F'ing easy as referenced above. Thanks to Wigwam for posting the fees. There are some really sad excuses for human beings posting here. The person posting as "costs in Vienna/Fairfax () really needs to get a life. Put the laptop down and go do something constructive. Don't bother replying. I won't be checking back. People who get things done don't worry about people like you.

Wait...wut? Who the fuck are you? Naw dawg really...who...the...fuck...are...you?

This is 2015 and this bitch rolls up in here on a discussion that is already well underway talkin' 'bout stuff's not easy to find and other gat blasts over the hood of my niggaz proverbial cars...

Who the fuck are you? Keyboard OG, bee-yotch? Please...

Do you know why clubs don't post the initiation fees and monthly? Because they want you to roll up in there, take a tour and evaluate their facilities. How the fuck you gonna' quote someone the fees without them having the benefit of having familiarized themselves with the features and benefits of the club.

This is a big decision. It's not a car or a house but, it's a big decision. Narrow your search down to 4 clubs. Make 3 visits to each. Make one visit where you are fully escorted. Make another visit where you have received permission to tour the facilities again by yourself at your own pace. This will allow you to see the club in the manner you like and you're not being steered to or away from specific areas. This second visit should take place on the club's busiest day and time of the week so that you can see what overall access really looks like. Finally, your last visit should take at night so that you can get an understanding of their approach to members' safety. Be very up front with each club you visit that you are considering other clubs, what those clubs are and then ask each membership director why you should become a member there at that club versus the competition.

I would also ask for an opportunity to meet each of the club's president of the board of directors. Again, find out what kind of environment exists there. Are the BOD and the club's management in synch with how the members want the club to be operated? If there is dischord, is it healthy dischord where matters are resolved after respectful and professional discussion or is it dictatorial? When was the last time the club terminated someone's membership and what was the cause? You need to learn as much about these clubs as possible before joining.
