Since he jumped self-confidently into the political limelight, Donald Trump has been quite the upside-down man. Customarily, primary seasons permit each party’s voters to indulge in a rational process of elimination: First, they discover which candidate most closely agrees with them on policy, and then they ask themselves whether that person is capable of representing their ideas in public. This time around, however, this process has been disastrously inverted, a solid portion of the Republican party’s balloters having decided first who they want to speak on their behalf, and then, as if t’were a mere afterthought, wondered what he might end up saying. That their pick lacks any sort of conservative message at all does not seem to have mattered in the slightest. “We want that guy,” a host of voters have determined. “Whatever he believes, he says it so well.”

Look at past political polls. Republican vs democratic polls don't mean shit until two months before the election.

Chances are Trump won't even get the nomination. Ben Carson is also leading Trump right now. DO you think Ben Carson will win the GOP nomination?

Trump is the new Sarah Palin - incredibly arrogant but dumb as a rock and full of bluster. That interview the other day that he tried to bluff through was downright painful to watch. That alone would have dealt a fatal blow to any other candidate. It's a testament to the sheer stupidity of Republican voters that it had no effect on Trump. Meanwhile, your number two choice can barely string together a coherent sentence and looks stoned most of the time. Pitiful.

I was willing to keep an open mind when Trump first announced, but no sentient human being could support him after hearing his neverending string of outrageous statements. Really, what the hell are you people thinking?

The big money superpacs that control the republican party will likely go on the Trump attack soon, because they can't control him like they can control their money supported candidates, and for them that's a dangerous situation. They buy influence and they feel threatened when they lack influence. Trump is beholden to nobody.

Trump is a warm-up act. His job is to pull in an audience and get them ready to laugh at the main act. Of course, given the laughable Republican field, none of this was really necessary.
