RFP attached. Kinda extensive - not just a matter of changing the aesthetics of a few hundred fcps.edu web pages.

I dunno - am I picking nits?
I mean, how is it FCPS says they don't have enough money to teach our kids ($100 million deficit for FY 2017), but yet do this extensive web site redesign?

It will 'only' cost a few million.

Plus, like most all public sector development jobs, overruns due to lack of proper contractor oversight and a continual stream of adds and change requests of course.

Which then will be scraped because it doesn't work, to be replaced by simple changes that could have been done by a freshman student at TJ on their lunch break.

Now that I think about it, that's not a bad idea. In-house the job as an ongoing development project for computer science students at TJ. They could even learn how to do remote team management by outsourcing the grunt work to a sister tech high school in India. Give 'em a leg up for when they hit the real world.

Let's give Eric Jensen a sole source contract "Designing Web Sites With Jensen's Bank Account in Mind" that should do it.

That's actually a great idea; and what a start on the careers for those students involved.

Football players are extolled as the acme of humanity. Let's see what they can do off the field. Let the best football team in FCPS do the website work. Let's see if these claims about football are true.
