This. We used to have outages whenever it rained heavily; turned out the "flowerpot" (underground junction box) was filling with water and the connections weren't watertight. Since that got fixed, things have been very stable. I've even stopped running PingPlotter to track outages. Oh, this is Cox, not FiOS; not gonna get into wars over which is better--in OUR neighborhood, both are pretty solid. I'd rather deal with Cox than the Evil Vz (yeah, ok, it's one devil vs. the other, but that's my choice).
