Craftsman tools came under fire in 2004 in a lawsuit accusing Sears of false advertising and consumer fraud for questionable use of the slogan "Made in the USA".
Stanley / Sears tools - similar wahoo over origin. (NY,NY began sears as an import company - many union people in the 1980's said "dont go there - not made in usa")
both have agreements with (ie, home depot) to sell their products under different labels. also home depot products are largely china and have been known to hide their place of origin
it's simple: they've been f'ing USA over left and right for 30 years now - and have made f'ing over USA a franchise that bends over for whatever china wants them to. and they've been using "USA" deceptively to help sell it - becaue they know americans are finally revolting at the register (where it hurts)

Harbor freight sells Chicago electric brand... That's 'Merican ain't it?
You have to spend a lot of coin to get real made in the USA tools, most of us can't afford 'em or can't find them easily...

"Buy American" is a slogan for the empty-headed right-wingers.,Country of origin is irrelevant except maybe for choosing between items of equal quality.
