Vienna metro reserved parking

So question has anyone ever packed in the Vienna metro reserved parking. Is it enforced? Also do they really tow?

You can park in those spots after 10 AM without a permit.

You will be towed during those hours unless you have the placard hanging from your mirror...and it changes color each month.

It's 65 beans monthly for the Reston garage and that only gets you the ability to park in those spots. You still have to pay the same rate as everyone else for parking.

We have one for my wife. It's not absolutely necessary, but we can afford it and it's nice to not have to worry about what time she gets to the garage. She also likes parking in the same place every day.

They usually won't tow you but they will ticket you.

It's happened to me at least 3 times already

Yes they do tow cars away. Last week there was this homeless guy panhandling outside of the Vienna Metro station. He had parked in the wrong location to do his begging, and the tow company contracted to clear such situations hauled away his BMW.

I parked there about 9:55 and has a ticket on my window.

The parking lot cops aren't at every station every day, but it will likely be at least a couple of days a week that the cop is cruising up and down by 9:45. They will ticket every car without a permit displayed. Once 10:00 hits, the all-clear sounds. Then they occupy themselves for a while in logging out-of-state license plates. If your plate shows up multiple times, they will pass it on to County cops who will eventually do a track-back and drop by your place to ask why your car hasn't been registered in Virginia. That can be unpleasant.

The lot is never full anymore so why bother messing around with a reserved spot before 10:00. Just drive to roof. There is an elevator in case you are unable to walk the steps.
