18 years in Maryland is different than 18 years in Virginia.
He might be out in about 4-5 years, on supervised probation.
What he did was extremely dangerous.
I still get the shudders when I even think about the Station Nightclub fire.
Reading about it is hard. Watching (more importantly, listening) to the Youtube videos is horrifying.

OP is correct about Maryland. However, he will also be tried in Virginia where parole was abolished 20 years ago. Once he finishes his sentence in Maryland he will be transferred to Virginia, where he will serve at least 85% of his sentence. In Virginia you can only cut about 15% of your sentence off for good behavior.

There was a band that was called Great White, they set off fireworks inside a theater... do you remember what happened next? Yeah so it's extremely dangerous to do something like that.
