WASHINGTON –Police say a man’s body found in the Herndon area on Monday appears to be a “suspicious” death.

Officers were called to a wooded area at Folly Lick Stream around 12:30 p.m. for reports of a body found. The body was that of an adult man with trauma to the upper body, according to a Fairfax County Police Department news release.

The investigation is in its early stages, the police say. A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of the death.

No identification has been made.

We were called to a suspected suicide in that area this afternoon. No further details can be released until an autopsy is completed and next of kin are notified.

I noticed in the local rags that track police reports, Herndon always leads the other localities number of "Assaults" by almost a 3 to 1 margin every week. For years I've always wondered if it's something in the water.

Used to play Little League baseball games off Alabama st in Herndon.
Had to have the cops available at several games.
Glass bottles always breaking behind us.

However, The Amphora is a great diner in HERNDON.

Fairfax County Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death of a man who was found last month in a wooded area off Hiddenbrook Drive in unincorporated Herndon.

Moises Dominguez, 18, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of William Adolfo Rivas Leiva, police said.

Dominguez, of Sterling was arrested on Wednesday. Detectives said they are looking into the possibility that the homicide was gang-related.

Rivas Leiva, 22, was found in the woods at Folly Lick Stream on March 15. He had upper body trauma and police investigated the death as a homicide.
