In the Fairfax/Chantilly area, what sort of jobs are there available that are not food industry related for someone that is 18 or almost out of high school? I won't be living with family very soon and I need to find a source of income.

Become a fire fighter. Lots of time off. Paid to workout and if you join now you can retire at 38 making well over $100k and you'll get a full pension and great health insurance.
Any job will do to cover the income, something where you can take personal phone calls and there is a lot of foot traffic is best, ideally without a ton of kids around. Near Mason or Nova would be good locations.
Go get a job with a construction company and start learning that business. If you have good communication and organizational skills seek employment as part of the office team learning project management and bidding. If work with your hands is a better fit for you then work in the field. If you choose the field pay attention to how the work flows through it's various stages and learn how to run work and how to manage crews. If you work hard you will do well. This area has a strong construction industry and it will remain strong for years to come so your future will be secure. You can easily make 6 figures + bonus health and vacation benefits as well. If the company you choose requires college then go while you are working their. Doing it this way will steer you toward career specific classes and cut out the ones that aren't necessary. Construction work is good honest work that there is a need for and can net you a lot of $$$$ if you do it right. Good luck. Now get to work kid.
Look at all the other people on this forum who stayed in NoVa after HS. They are all losers now. Get out of NoVa and move west or go abroad. More opportunities there.
that was the way people were successfull before sharon-bull-o-va gov made the area bankrupt and imported mexicans
a job used to pay rent in fx co va before those sacks of shit got control. plus anyone not drunk willing to work a good day got a job

fx co gov is WRITING green cards and "by fx co law" (they say) favoring them for employment "because they could be deported"
which allot of crap. for 30 years there has been nothing but spics and niggas doing the utility (road - then school - now all) in the county
the jobs aren't advertised and if one goes on the GOV RUN JOB SITE: no answers. and you find a gov worker teenager in a job - or an illegal - if you ever browse by to see who got hired for the job the GOVERNMENT JOB AGENCY never got back to you aobut
the Washington Post, and nickle and time papers at 7-11, used to be the way to find jobs
since when is it Governemnts job to run all jobs, do all hiring of all jobs, and run the job agencies too? sure it's good - on the other hand gov should be limited to brief overview (and kickign the corrupt in the head). not allowing political families to start profit total failure companies using "government" as a slogan
Despite widespread taxpayer protests, the Fairfax schools continue to use Boosterthon. Boosterthon needs people to harass children to get pledges and set up the Boosterthon speedway. Try getting a job with them. They don't require a degree.
