Use to stop at the 7/11 all the time after going swimming at the YMCA

What was the name of the business before Chuckie Cheese. Seem to recall it had some association with noted film camera man (2001 space Odyssey) but I'm old and the memory ain't that good

also wasn't that the second Roy Rogers resaurant in the area after the one in Baileys Crossroads

Some place I have few memories of.
Was the Safeway where the CVS is now? I seem to remember a Drug Emporium was there and it looked like a Safeway inside before. Anyone know what was where the Trader Joes is?

I remember the pool hall back in the corner where the Urgent Care is. Pizza Kazzano was the best! We could order a large cheese (square I believe) pizza and pitchers of Coke and sit there for hours. Giant Music - so much fun, lots of great posters and huge headphones. Also, use to be a Hot Shoppes Jr. before Roy Rogers. We could walk around the shopping center all night long - no troubles, no worries.

You sound as lame as my brother in-law.

Sigh. This is the reason therapist stay in business. It must suck to be you.

PS God speed with your slightly wet situation.

We recall Pickett from the late 70s well into '80s. Yes, for {thinredline's} mention of Giant Music. Also, a restaurant named Knish-Knosh, a few doors left of Giant Music- facing from the parking lot. Can't recall the business on the other/right side that became Chuckie Cheese. Drove by there earlier this year. Layout looks similar to past memories BUT the stores have changed.

The tornado back in the 70s ripped the roof off of Woodson HS, twice. Somewhere there is a photo of a school bus that got tossed into the front of the ABC store. Thank God it didn't hit the gas farm across from Fairfax ice arena.

Was Giant Music owned by Giant Food? Giant was into other non-food stuff in the 70s and early 80s.

There also was an ice cream store, Dart Drug, a Singer sewing store and a gift store. You could walk to it all from Mantua.
After the tornado hit, Woodson students went half day to Oakton.

Giant Music was owned by Jack Schaeffer.

His daughter was a stripper downtown.

I remember back in the 70s Roy Rogers made an appearance at that restaurant and there was a huge crowd that turned out. And somebody threw a pie in Roy's face...totally surreal and he was super pissed.
