Why do republican presidents and congress love vacation so much?

You're just jealous because you know if you took a vacation they'd realize they don't really need you and you'd be first on the chopping block the next time they laid people off.

In 2010, Obama flew aboard Air Force One 172 times, nearly every other day. Just the cost of flying aboard Air Force One to Obama’s hometown of Chicago reportedly hovers around $180,000 per hour.
Most of these trips were to Democratic fundraisers or to remote golf courses. How does he avoid them being called vacation days? Easy. He just needs to have one meeting or give a short speech and it becomes "official" travel. No need to reimburse the Government. Even last month when he and Michelle took separate planes to California he justified the millions in expenses as not worthy of questions.
Imagine any Federal agency trying to do anything close to that.
Inside observers believe the root of OBama's need to travel is his hatred for the Clintons, who get to travel where they want, with anyone they want, and remain popular across a wide swath of the world. In the final years of Obama's presidency he has become obsessed with them and angry at anyone who infers that his administration is not just as successful.

George Bush spent many days in "The Western White House" so he could get work done without the Washington interruptions. Counters call these "vacation days" when they were anything but that.
