First degree murder in Virginia doesn't carry a death penalty sentence.
Either the parents didn't want it or the prosecution thought they'd have a better shot at proving first degree than capital murder.

As a tax payer I dont want to house that piece of shit with my tax dollar for the rest of his life. The parents should have absolutely no say in the matter.He needs to take the good old dirt nap after he is found guilty. First degree murder is punishable by no more than 40 years, he will be out by 73.

Yes First Degree Murder in Virginia does not carry the death penalty. Is this for all the charges against him or limited to this one case. Maybe the Harrington case will go all the way.

I think the OP is making reference to the mass suicide/murder that happened in Guyana back in November 1978. It was The Peoples Temple run by Rev Jim Jones.
