Has anyone had good a good experience with a local place that will change your oil in under an hour that isn't Jiffy Lube where you have to put up with their fucking sales pitch to buy about 100 additional services that you don't need?

Yeah, don't be so frickin' lazy. On most vehicles an oil and filter change can done at home in about 1/2 hour or less. Oh yeah and don't dump that shit in a stream behind your house...

Thanks for nothing. I'm too damn important to soil my hands changing my own oil. Anyone had any luck hiring the Mexicans hanging out by Lowes to change their oil?

I usually change my own oil but over the years there are times when I'm a lazy fuck and take the car or the wife's car to a quick lube place. I've found Valvoline is decent and while they will "suggest" additional services they aren't pushy about it.

By all means avoid Goodyear, my son went to one recently for an oil changes special and they tried to clip him for an extra $600 or so for shit he didn't need, bullshit like a transmission and radiator flushes. He called me from there and I told him to get the hell out after the oil was changed. A lot of those flushes can really fuck up a car, so fuck Goodyear.

The place on the corner of Baron Cameron and Route 7. Forget the name at the moment.

You drive in and sit in your car while they change the oil.

TiresPlus in Chantilly has done right by me.

Avoid Hogan Goodyear -- I went there once. They didn't seem to screw up the job, but I sat there and heard them upsell some lady like crazy on stuff nobody needs. I may not be SAE certified but when I was young, broke, and stupid I did enough of my own work to know a bit! (Not not so young...)

I agree with the others about Valvoline. The one in Centreville is pretty good - more reasonable than Jiffy Lube and they're not pushy with add-on services at all.

+1

Hit up their website for specials and coupons. I go to the one in Centreville on RT 29. Never a long wait either.
