Newly sworn in AG Herring fires McDonnell's lawyers whom have cost the state $785,000

The Attorney General says if the former Governor needs legal defense, he and his office will provide it. The office no longer has a conflict of interest in the matter.

About time! As someone wrote in response:

"Republican theory: fiscal and personal responsibility.
Republican reality: give taxpayers a $1M bill to clean up your (alleged) criminal acts.
Republican conclusion: fiscal and personal responsibility are for other people."
