Crosses on the roads
Posted by: Cindy ()
Date: December 15, 2014 10:30AM

is anyone else tired of seeing these crosses on the side of the roads, designating where someone lost their life? I understand the families want these people remembered, but the side of the road is not where they are.

I find the one on pohick rd by rt 1 the most offensive however...wasn't he drunk and speeding...he could have killed someone, yet I have to look at this huge, cross, has got to be the height of at least 5 1/2 ft ,which NOW has a wreath attached.

Bury them pray for them but I'm tired of looking at them

So what. A family puts up a cross to remember their family/friend. A cross may also give a handful of young drivers a jolt of reality which may make them more careful drivers. Those crosses may save a life or two. If something simple as a cross offends you, than tough shit
Your a selfish bitch

If I have the right to put up a cross, than you have the right to put up your shit

I saw a colander hanging from a post on the side of the road.

Must be for the death of a Pastafarian.

May His warm, noodly appendages smother this poor soul with the sauce of everlasting breadsticks.

Amen

Pay no attention to Cindy. She converted to Islam and hates anything that reminds her of Christian infidels. Be careful, though, because she likes belt bombs.

Im done, you lovely people dont get it ,it isnt the cross it isnt the poor dead person, I personaly would rather they all went to the graveyard and honored their dead rather than my having to see them popping up everywhere.

i dont want 'clit licked' I just had a comment

you people should sit back and take a good long look at your lives, they must be pitiful...and sad...

Holiday wishes and Blessing to All of you, prayers will be sent to help you on your way....

Its sad that people can express such vile ,things....if you came face to face with the person you were insulting you would NOT be so brave....

I have pity for you...

PUT UP AL THE Crosses you wish...

May God be with you...you need him......

I respect this comment, but your original comment smelled of judgement. Who hasn't driven drunk or sped at one time? The rare person. That fellow just happened to die doing it.
This is ffxu, if you expect civility, than you'll be let down

"Him" should have been capitalized. It says here that you will burn in the lake of fire for this. People were a little bit picky all those thousands of years ago. Still no reason to believe that they made any of this stuff up. Lake of fire for you, it is...

If it makes you feel any better I know a guy who was hit by a toyota while he was setting up a cross on Braddock road. He lost his left leg and right thumb.

There is an underlying baseline of traffic fatality that has nothing to do with age or drugs or anything else. Going as fast as we do in a sea of other cars and non-car objects waiting to be run into is going to cost us some number of lives no matter what we do. Speed, alcohol, cell phones, and inattention are not necessarily an issue, but people make mistakes, and some of those come at just the wrong moment. People need more introspection and self-discipline. You aren't a hot-shot. You are a ticking time-bomb. We all are unless we do something about it.

to the persons on this website, blog whatever it is.
Who feel they must belittle people.
I have a picture in my mind of you sitting at your computer at work, disgusted with your existence, with no better way of fulfilling yourselves then making racial slurs, vile and disgusting references to sexual acts.
Then after writing your brilliant put downs.
You,pick your nose, eat it,wipe your finger on your pants, lift your huge ass out of your ergo natural chair, probably provided by the govt. job.
You call your wife to request hamburger helper for dinner, maybe the taco kind....
Have a happy holiday..losers....xoxo

THIS is a Muslim country. There are in fact well over a thousand faiths practiced in this country and nearly half a million houses of worship. None of them is any better that any other in the eye of the state. How could you NOT have learned that???

Like everyone else's, your religious rights are individual. They end at your fingertips. You may not reach out and touch anyone else who does not wish to be touched. Society itself of course reeks of religion that is oddly protected as being ceremonial non-religion. There's not much you can do about that either.

As for crosses (or henges) at the side of the road, none of them are permitted. All that is allowed are those secular little VDOT signs. If a cross or other inappropriate marker somewhere bothers you, call VDOT. They will (eventually) come and remove it. Whereas if you don't call, it will just sit there.

Freaking newbie. What you are describing is the posters from Centreville and Falls Church. Most of the rest of us are really nice guys and gals.
