Revolution Bar and Restaurant - Avoid
Posted by: Revolution Bar and Restaurant ()

Avoid this dump at all cost. Went to their opening night and was greeted by the typical patrons that frequented Fast Eddies, the inside looked and smelled the same, and of course the bouncer at the front.

You would think on their opening night they would try to establish a clientele worthy of making their business succeed. First words out of the bouncers mouth, "IDs and $10 for cover."

WHAT THE HELL!? You want $10 for a dive bar in CENTREVILLE! As we turned and walked away he said “But we will only charge $5.00 if you like us on Facebook.”

How the hell can I like something I’ve never experienced…… If it’s the same as Fast Eddies then, ‘No’ I will not like your shit hole.

CENTREVILLE

So this guy is complaining that the "clientele worthy of making
their business succeed" But HE can't pay $10 for a cover charge for the bar.

Are the drinks poured right? Is there a decent M/F ratio? Any diversions (darts, pool, trivia?) All I care about.

I'm one of those who can make friends from the Judge to the defendant, so humans don't bother me. I just want a good time.

A $10 cover charge for a random bar in Centerville is a little much. You came there to spend money, and unless a lot has changed, it's all men: it isn't a club. Was there a band? That would make more sense and may be worth paying for.

It's not cheap to decide not to pay for something you don't want. He said it looked the same and had the same people, so why would he pay $10 for it now?

I admit, devoting a thread to it lends credence to theories about op having an axe to grind, but his points are valid if true. I live in the area and I've seen some non-anonymous Facebook posts by people having the same issues. It was also mentioned they put off using the air conditioner as long as possible, which is just silly when it's almost 90 degrees outside.

I don't plan on visiting, but there is still a chance they grab the bull by the horns and succeed,we need a good bar around here.

No shit....what is the $10 for???

Was this a weekend or a weeknight?

Centreville needs a bar that is decent to hang out in with out the white trash or other low class people from Prince William County that think Centreville is DC.

Was just in that "shopping center" tonight and noticed about 15-20 bikers parked on the sidewalk directly in front of the building and hanging out on the outdoor patio there. Plus, they are too cheap to put up an actual sign on the building?? A vinyl sign flapping in the wind probably won't cut it...

Funny I went there all week for their opening activities and there was no door charge. They do ask for ID but I expect they would do that to ensure that minors are not entering after a certain time.

The place did change and has a cleaner feel to it and new menu items are Grear. The is sounds more like a disgruntled employee posing as a customer maybe even manager.

Agreed. Bungalows is way better value and you can't beat $2 on Thursdays.

My problem is that place has always had fights or some type of parking lot rumbles. That in turn causes police to sit it the parking lots. It just creates a bad environment all together.

I had a great time their opening weekend. Metallica Tribute band Friday \m/, Country girls in daisy dukes Saturday :) , and Veterans Charity event Sunday with all you can eat crawfish.

Me and several friends entered each day, none were ever asked to pay a cover.

I know the past places used to have some good times (living here 10+ years), but seems to always get run into the ground allowing the riff-raff in. The waitresses were talking to us about how the new GM and owners are bringing in national acts the same way Jaxx used to be before it went all death metal and gangster rap night. This area needs it!

Even if my crystal ball isn't working, I agree. I keep seeing posts about it being the same staff and all, but I'll bet SOMEBODY got fired during the change off and holds it against the new owners.

The $10 cover charge thing was ridiculous, can anybody else confirm that this was not the case?

I was there on the opening Friday night, I didn't pay cover, I simply had to 'like' them on Facebook. They had a pretty kick-ass Metallica cover band, that I wouldn't have been mad if I did pay to get in. Hey, at least it's not some douche with a Mac pressing play and using digital turntables to mix music.

That being said, it does look pretty much the same in there. There also weren't a ton of people on Friday night. They may need to market it a bit better.

I hope it succeeds, Centreville could definitely use some live music.

Sadly, same shitty place just a temp face lift. And that is being nice. Also have been hearing that they employ a number of illegals. Really wish some decent bars would open in Cville. At least a bar you don't have to worry about dousing yourself in antibac after walking out.

That all changed once they built the outdoor patio at Backyard Bar and Grill. These days, that's where all the riffraff go and where the fights occur, especially now that Sully's is gone. Regardless though, Bungalows and Backyard Grill are both better than Fast Eddie's Cville.

I miss the Shark Club! They were the only ones at that location to get it right. Too bad they got shut down due to prostitution. I went to Revolutions opening Friday night, it felt like the ac wasn't on. That alone made me unable to stay...took off and hit Redrocks.

Pretty accurate. The last couple of times I've been in Backyard the crowd was kinda low life. Looked like some left over patrons from other bars. Cops certainly do like to sit in the parking lot at Backyard. I stopped going to Backyard because who wants to go to a bar with cops in the parking lot.

FCPD has an officer that is stationed out there Friday and Saturday nights. He is sometimes there on week nights. If he's not bad enough, you've got the half a dozen officers who cruise the area looking for potential DUIs. They love the
7-11 across the street. There are some good people that frequent the place, bartenders are great, lots of specials. Unfortunatly, it's gained a reputation for fights. Earlier in the year, a guy walked in a shot off a gun. So yeah, the cops will be sittin' out there.

The Sully District Station will often post plain clothed officers at the aforementioned establishments PLUS they have informants who will call you in if you've had more than 3 drinks without food. These informants are usually former FCPD or Fire retirees who prefer to keep the bars to themselves and claim to combat DUIs and DIPs.

It must really suck when a plain clothes cop in the bar starts licking his chops after my 3rd beer and then Uber picks me up at the end of the night.

What a waste of a good plain clothes cops. Sit in a restaurant and look for people having more than 3 beers. Undercovers would be better used penetrating MS-13 and Pagen gangs in the county.

That made me laugh so hard haha!

Exactly what cops do, they are like scavengers going after the low hanging fruits. Trying to arrest some hard-working people for enjoying beer after their long day at the office... Makes me sick.

I'm glad I went to college, ensured that I could never be a cop!
