Cheap dental solution neeed

Hello,

My son is having a serious problem with his front tooth.
Doc says he needs a crown and we can't afford one at this point..already having trouble even with the rent. I have been out of job for a few months.

Is there any place that could provide a very cheap dental service in Fairfax?

Call the Nothern Virginia Dental Society. 703-642-5297

Or go to the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Call the school and make an appointment. 1-804-828-9190

A crown will take several appointments at the school.

Human Services of Fairfax 703-385-7894 Prior to being referred you will need to be screened by a social services agency. Call for info.

did you ask if the dentist would take payments? some are pretty understanding about high dollar work and the economy.

Closer bets for dental school work are Howard or University of Maryland in Baltimore, you can find the #s.

I had work done at UM,it is slower but much cheaper and well done every step is checked and they are doing it for a grade not $$s so quality not speed is the issue.

Try Georgetown School of Dentistry - they will do work for free to provide 'practice' for the students. I am serious btw.

I went to the dental school at Howard Univ. in D.C. once when I thought I might have a cavity and was a poor college student. It's a good deal (I think it was like $20 or something), metro accessible & all work is supervised by a "real" dentist. This was a few years ago so might want to Google/call to see what the current situation is, but it was a good deal at the time.

Are either the Georgetown or Richmond Dental schools better or cheaper than UMD? I make ok money and have dental insurance, but I just need lots of work done. I have an appointment set at UMD but it sounds like it is in the hood..

You've gotten some really good suggestions, but before going to a cheap or charitable place you should beg Dr. Gannon in Vienna 1 block off 123 at Church and Mill streets to give you a freebee even though he is not known for that.

He is by far the best dentist in Northern Virginia and your son's teeth are extremely important for his long term health!
