Phyllis Payne will be personally responsible for the death of a middle school student

Along with Dave Vennergrund, Liz Griffith, Caroline Hemenway, Timothy Ruse, Lisa Priebe, Debra Phillips, Roger Cryan, Lisa Newmark, co-founder Sandy Evans, and the other SLEEPers who put their own agenda ahead of child safety.

Their excuse that moving back middle school times to 7:30 AM is that it's "only" two years of walking in the dark for 12-13 year olds.

Best new graduation presents for a 6th grader: flashlight and reflective clothing.

Congratulations on bringing us back to 1970.

Is it true that a Canadian school bus company provided funding for this campaign?

huh, my 7th grader already starts school at 725am. We star-gaze on the way to the bus stop at 630 am every day. I assume by the OP's post that the OP agrees kids should not go to school an hour before sunrise - here here!

On the other hand it does sound like perhaps OP's kids are in middle school and are not currently starting early and that moving start times for HS will move his/her kids earlier - welcome to the club.

We should have moved ALL the start times later. If you ask me it sounds like the OP is all for other kids walking in the pitch dark so long as its not Her kids...

Rachel Carson MS starts at 8:00 am. No one ever asked us about starting at 7:30. It's only a half hour, but that's a big impact on our morning schedule, especially my daughter who will have to be at the bus stop at 6:40 am next year.

Every member of SLEEP is a hypocrite and a liar.

Hughes starts @ 7:30 now.

Should all middle school schools start after 8?

Yes.

Do 12 & 13 years have the same charcadian rythm as high schoolers?

No

So why did the hypocrites at SLEEP support a plan that has more middle school starting at 7:30?

Correct, middle school students need more sleep than high schoolers. but SLEEP wants them to get less.
