They sure have, there's no denying it. But these days, black people (only 14 percent of the population) commit 34 percent of murders according to FBI crime statistics. White people (51 percent of the population) commit 31 percent of murders. And there are 2.5 times more white people living in poverty than black people. So if it's not socioeconomics, why does such a small minority of the population commit more murders than the majority of the population?
