There are alot of people who claim to be "fiscally conservative" and love Capitalism, yet they hate corporations. I don't get it, if you don't support corporations, you're a socialist.

I unequivelly support corporations because I'm not a hypocrite like the most of you. Practice what you preach.

I hate corporations, those dastardly conceptual entities!

I hate any successful private enterprises that create jobs and help people avoid dependence on government handouts. Businesses also sometimes commit the crime of providing inventions and creating better efficiencies in society.

It's better when we have a totalitarian government strictly regulate what we can eat, drink, save, think and do. I support socialism because I believe that people are the property of the state and should be treated as such. They are allowed to exist solely to serve the government.

Do you people not understand that Walmart's employee's depend on government handouts because, they refuse to pay them enough? At least 60% of people on benefits are WORKING. They would like to work more but, the corporations keep them just under full-time to avoid responsibility. They schedule them erratically, keeping them on-call 24/7.

You are abused, helpless people who have been conned into believing the world revolves around you, all rights have been taken from you. And you helped!

Theres a huge corporation about 110 years in the making who just about has its ducks in order and papers filed to rear its ugly head and announce itself more openly, enjoy and Thank You!

If the welfare state wasn't so huge and accessible, some of these Walmart employees might actually voice a need for higher wages and benefits.

Or it could be that we simply have plenty of workers to perform these menial jobs. There is no reason to pay these people more since the supply is unlimited.

Corporations are usually mediocre, especially the older ones. Family controlled businesses are either great or failures.

Does this include not-for-profit corporations and incorporated towns and cities?

Problem is, as we move into a global market and shit economy, they have begun using every consumer-fucking-money-saving technique available; to include moving their operations abroad to avoid taxes and employ shit quality Chinese manufacturing. It's called CAPITALISM. Under a Socialist system, the government would own the means and production of those companies. Do you really want that?

It's called crony capitalism. People hate others who bend the rules to favor themselves.

The Government owns them no matter what. Who writes and enforces the regulations upon which they operate? Who regulates their taxes? Who decides which elected officials operate as chairmen? Who are the shareholders?

The problem with big corporations is they often stomp out little competing businesses and then exploit their dominance by not offering good workplaces.

Take Walmart as an example. They have stomped out any small businesses trying to compete against them with predatory pricing. Once the stores are gone they jack up their prices.

I remember in the Monty Python's the Meaning of Life, the corporations waged war.

They still do. They use the CIA, the State Department, the US military, the IMF, and whatever means at their beck and call. Globalization is really about privatization. The State Department spent 5 billion dollars on protests in Ukraine. Who knows how much more was raised through private funding from foreign investors to finance 'pro-democracy' groups, paramilitary forces, and key politicians in Ukraine?

There is an interesting documentary called The Corporation that compares the objectives of a corporation to the DSM definition of a psychopath. Many corporations exist for the sole purpose of profit and will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. There are some large corporations out there (thinking of Costco) that have CEOs who care about paying a living wage, treating employees well, selling quality goods, etc., but many would dump chemicals into our drinking water and make employees work 100+ hour weeks if we didn't have laws to stop them.

I used to consider myself fiscally conservative, but have lost faith in the greed that drives some of these large businesses. And I absolutely refuse to shop at Walmart. I would rather pay the actual cost of a good in order for an employee to be self sufficient with healthcare, than buy some made-in-China junk that helps line the pockets of a greedy CEO only to pay more in taxes to support Medicare and foodstamps for the employees who work there.
