'Bigfoot shot dead but body disappears': Conspiracy theorists claim cops covered up proof of yeti

The existence of the legendary Bigfoot is one of the world’s greatest unsolved mysteries, but even after his reported death, he remains an enigma.

Amid rumours a turkey hunter had shot and killed the 10ft beast, a resident in rural Pennsylvania called 911 and claimed he had evidence the sasquatch was real after finding a huge footprint near his home.

Now hundreds of conspiracy theorists have accused authorities of a cover-up after reports of military helicopters swooping on the area - possibly to remove the Bigfoot’s body – and the fact local police dismissed the footprint as a bear’s.

Thomas Rogers, who has followed reports of Bigfoot for 24 years, said: “This stinks to high heaven.

"They clearly know something but they are keeping us in the dark. With all sightings we have to take them seriously and this is no different.

“Sadly for us though, until a body is found, the question of whether Bigfoot exists or not is still a mystery.”

The rumour mill started on May 14, when police took an emergency call from John Winesickle – the resident who found the footprint, in Paint Township, Somerset County.

A 911 operator tipped off local officers who agreed to investigate.

Within hours, Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society received an email from an enthusiast who said he had overheard chatter on a police scanner after an unidentified hunter claimed to have shot a Bigfoot.

The message read: “Officers confirmed there was an unidentified animal shot and killed. Details are a bit fuzzy at this time.”

Just 40 minutes later, the society received an even more bizarre email.

It read: “Hello, YES, this is legit, a strange report came over the scanner here in Somerset, PA, just a few miles from Flight 93 memorial.”

The message also told of how a follower monitoring a scanner heard police joking about the shooting claim.

It said: “It was about 20 minutes later that he said he heard a police officer radio back and state, ‘There was a body’.

“He said the next radio transmission to the officer was, ‘Call the centre’.”

The email also mentions a “large helicopter” in the area.

It added: “The sound was so loud it shook his house, so he went outside to take a look.

“It was then that he observed a formation of four Army Apache helicopters moving in the direction of Somerset.”

The official police log tells how officer Christopher Swartz inspected the footprints found by John Winesickle.

He concluded they belonged to a bear.

Officer Swartz wrote” “I advised John this. He was not happy with the answer.

“He said he could definitely tell the difference between a bear footprint and a Bigfoot footprint. I decided not to argue.”

Last night John hit back. He fumed: “No, no, no. A bear can’t go down a steep bank on all twos. That’s proven this is a Bigfoot.”

Previous witnesses have described the beast as having large eyes, a pronounced brow, low-set forehead and a crested gorilla-type crown.

He is commonly reported to have a bad smell and feet up to two foot long.

Discovery: John Winesickle found the footprint; Tracks: Authorities claim they are bear prints.

Is this Bigfoot's foot? Experts baffled by mysterious five-toed foot found in forest
The decomposing foot was discovered in a forest last month but medical experts are still baffled as to which creature it came from

A big foot has been discovered in woods - sparking speculation it could belong to a Bigfoot.

Two boys found the decomposing foot in Massachusetts last month and handed it in to cops who sent it off to be identified.

Medical experts have since tested it but say more examinations are needed to identify the mystery creature.

However, despite having five toes and resembling a large human foot, they have ruled out that possibility.

Local police chief Frank Alvilhiera suggested it might be a bear's paw but admitted: “It will take some time before we hear any official results.".

Bigfoot - also known as Sasquatch or the abominable snowman - is the name given to a creature some people believe inhabit forests of North America.

Most famously, footage was filmed in 1967 in California purporting to show a Bigfoot - but sceptics claim it was a man in a gorilla costume

Last year a hoaxer trying to start a Bigfoot scare was run over and killed as he stood in the road attempting to terrify drivers.

Randy Lee Tenley, 44, was wearing a ghillie suit – a straggly full-body camouflage outfit resembling the mysterious ape-like creature also known as Sasquatch – hoping it would lead to reports of sightings.

But because he was camouflaged he was hit by one car then run over by another as he lay in the road.

Bigfoot prank gone wrong: Man, 44, dressed as Sasquatch to scare motorists hit and killed by two cars on US highway
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/bigfoot-impersonator-hit-killed-highway-1283509

A man was hit and killed by two cars on a busy highway after apparently dressing as BIGFOOT to scare passing motorists.

Randy Lee Tenley is believed to have been dressed in a ‘Ghillie suit’, a type of military camouflage, when he was run over on Highway 93 in Kalispell, Montana, on Sunday night.

The 44-year-old was standing in the right-hand lane facing traffic when he was hit by one car. A second vehicle ran over him as he lay in the road after the impact.

The two cars, driven by two Somers girls aged 15 and 17, were unable to stop in time, police said.

Officers said the Ghillie suit, a type of full body clothing usually worn by military snipers, would have made it difficult to see Tenley.
It is thought the victim may have been drinking before pretending to be Bigfoot – also known as Sasquatch- but police are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Trooper Jim Schneider said: “He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting.
“You can't make it up. I haven't seen or heard of anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him.
"He probably would not have been very easy to see at all."

Bigfoot is the name given to an ape-like creature that some people believe inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.

As I understand it, most mammals have have DNA extracted and have been documented in the DNA libraries around the world for comparisons. How can they not have determined which animal this foot belongs to?
